Introvert Trait Updated for Cats & Dogs

The Introvert Trait is now compatible with Cats & Dogs patches (and the expansion pack itself.) 

Thanks to the tutorial at Sims VIP and Scarlet for helping me figure out what I was doing wrong the first time I tried to do it!

Updates in Progress

It turns out some of my mods ARE compatible with the latest patch(es). Others have been updated and ONE needs to be checked.

Here's what is working with the November 9th patch:

Zerbu has stated that custom traits are NOT WORKING with the pre-Cats & Dogs patch. He plans to update Mod Constructor. At that time, I'll check/test the Introvert Trait. For now, I strongly advise leaving it out of your game.

This is why we can't have nice things!

Yes, yes it is!  Vanilla playing it is until Sims 4 Studio updates for Cats and Dogs. The pets have wrecked practically every mod that exists and even some furniture, from what custom content makers are saying. But with a whole new neighborhood coming, along with new families, playing vanilla for awhile shouldn't be too bad!

Update Plan for Cats & Dogs

I haven't updated for the October 17th patch because it was a small one and probably doesn't need any changes to my mods, so I decided to wait for the pre-pets patch and do updating then. 

There's been a notice from Deaderpool that MC Commander (which I use) might not be updated right away after the patch or after Cats & Dogs is released on Friday. My first thought was, oh no, what am I going to do if other mods aren't updated? Then I remembered what I usually do with new expansion packs: STAY CALM AND PLAY WITHOUT MODS. Just for a little while. :)

So, my plan is to try to update all of my mods before Cats & Dogs comes Friday; but if the patch doesn't hit until Thursday, that might change. I'm giving myself the whole weekend to just play with the new furbabies, so full updates for my mods might not be finished until next week. 

If the patch shows up tomorrow, though, I'll try to get updates done before Friday.

Everything appears to be okay with the September 12th patch. FYI: I don't have the Toddler stuff pack. Sims 4 Studio is still not updated for the Sept. 12 patch.

Mods Updated for August 22 Patch

Three mods were updated:

Butler No Replacement - Added a new file I found, just to be sure everything is fully compatible and up to date.

Cheaper Incense - Text change update; maybe not necessary but I did it just in case.

No Fumes Garlic - Updated to cover public garden garlic.

All other standard mods check out okay for the update.

Introvert Trait MIGHT need updating. That's a bigger project. The odds are that it will be fine, though.



Updates! But first, a slight catastrophe....

I just accidentally deleted all of my mods from Sim File Share. Actually, I didn't. I only deleted a folder but the actual files remained.

But the GOOD NEWS is that I've updated everything for the August 22 patch. Once I get EVERYTHING re-uploaded, I'll post about what was updated and what didn't have to be (just quickly, the only things I updated were: Butler No Replacement, Cheaper Incense and No Fumes from Garlic. Everything else should be working fine, though my Introvert Trait will need a more vigorous check to be certain it's okay.)

I still can't believe just one mistaken click wiped out everything at Sim File Share. I might switch to another place to store my files.... Didn't do that. 
But they will be back ASAP. Back now. One URL change for the "mods all in one place" link; everything else still has the same URLs (except Aug. 25 updated files.)

I'm calling all my mods up-to-date for Parenthood and the June 1st patch, even though I can't officially check until a new version of Sims 4 Studio is released. But I've found no problems in my testing.

May 25th Patch

I'm waiting until I get the Parenting pack on Tuesday to check my mods for compatibility with the latest patch. 

I suspect there shouldn't be any problems with most of my mods, with the possible exception of the butler mods since the patch changed butlers a little. 

On Tuesday I'll play test my mods and then fully test them whenever Sims 4 Studio updates for the parenting pack.

Pearl the Builder

I got into a building mood recently and went looking for a building challenge. I decided on The Sims 4 Block Party Challenge, which involves tearing down an entire existing neighborhood and rebuilding it with your own lots. I chose Willow Creek.

Even though the rules allow custom content, I decided to make it even more challenging for myself and didn't use any. It wasn't easy! I did allow myself to use Maxis content from any and all packs; I have them all to date. But with one house, I realized as I was going along that I had so far only used base game content, so I decided to make a challenge of making that one house base-game only. That one is called Oak Instead and it replaces, as you might guess, Oakenstead in Willow Creek.

No Green Fumes from Garlic

I think we get the idea that garlic has a smell and don't need the green fumes to remind us. If they were a little more subtle I wouldn't mind, or if they were different than the spoiled food/low hygiene effect, but they're exactly the same and they're really unattractive. So now they're gone with this mod.
Works for all garlic: in the garden, harvested, braids, wreaths and garland. The mod doesn't change anything about garlic; it just removes the video effect of the green smoke/fumes.

No Food to Inventory After Cooking


Update: Patch March 23rd, 2017 fixed the problem that this mod addresses so it's no longer necessary.

This mod prevents Sims from automatically putting a serving of food in their own inventory after they cook, which they've been doing since the Toddlers patch.

Please read this entire post before downloading because the mod has one possibly undesirable side effect.

Call Over Flexibility




It's always annoyed me that a Sim has to be JUST SO far away in order for the "Call Over" interaction to appear. Why so picky, Maxis? Why can't I "call over" a Sim who's over there in that crowd in the middle of the room when I'm just over here in a quiet corner?

With this mod, you can call over a Sim from a very short or a very long distance. My primary goal was to make a shorter distance call over available, which the mod does well. Basically, you can call over a Sim who's standing right next to your Sim. So you can definitely call over a Sim who is just in the next room or even the same room.

Early Retirement Mod

Updated November 9, 2017


This mod allows Young Adults and Adults to retire from their job by using the phone. Though this can also be accomplished with cheat codes, the mod makes it a bit easier. All it does is change the phone menu to include YA and Adult for the "retire" option. Once they've retired, they'll get a daily pension.


This mod only required the alteration of one file which pertains to retiring by phone, so it shouldn't conflict with other phone mods unless they also involve retiring.

Butler Mods



(Glamour Life Stuff is required for these, obviously!)

I got a little obsessed with butlers when I got Glamour Life Stuff, but I don't like the fact that they can do a lot of inappropriate things freely, like hitting the globe bar 50 times a day and taking bubble baths just because they're bored. And then - they won't go to bed. I couldn't fix the butler not sleeping issue, but I made a workaround that helps with the slow super speed problem, along with no autonomous mods for butler bar globe drinks and bubble baths.
